A high standard of preparation is key in order to provide long term corrosion protection. This involves washing, cleaning and blasting steel to Sa 2.5 - which is defined as "very thorough blast cleaning" and means that mill scale, rust and foreign matter must be removed to the extent that only small taces remain and that there are only slight stains in the form of spots and stripes.
