Jotun's Barrier range consists of several zinc rich epoxy primers. These high performance coatings provide increased corrosion protection when applied directly on to blast primed steel. All the Barrier products contain high levels of zinc (ranging from 63% through to 90%). The zinc rich epoxy primers should then be overcoated with a compatible high build epoxy.
A typical Jotun paint system would be to apply a coat of zinc rich Barrier, followed by a product in the Jotamastic Range and then to use a two-pack polyurethane topcoat from the Hardtop Range.

A two-pack, zinc rich, epoxy primer which meets NORSOK approval. Barrier is used in combination with other primers to further improve corrosion protection. Total zinc content = 86%.
A two-pack epoxy primer that contains a high precentage of zinc that is designed for application to blast cleaned steel. Barrier 77 should be used in combination with other advanced coatings to further increase corrosion protection.
Barrier is a two-pack, zinc rich, epoxy primer. Barrier is used in combination with other primers to further improve corrosion protection. Total zinc content = 90%
A zinc primer for use on blast cleaned steel. Barrier ZEP should be used in combination with other advanced coatings to improve corrosion protection still further.
Use to differentiate between coats. Apply a small amount of this tint so the second coat shows as a different colour to the first coat thereby ensuring even coverage and better protection.
